F.A.C.E. seminars are led by a former credit card and current banking professional in collaboration with a

leading education consultant and higher education professor. 



Dr. Anthony Barber, Educational Consultant

Dr. Anthony Barber is the Director of Education of the Foundation for Adolescent Credit Education (F.A.C.E.), a non-profit, financial education resource for adolescents, teachers and schools offering on-site school seminars that present the basics of credit education, the repercussions of today’s credit solicitation tactics and a realistic roadmap to debt management and fiscal responsibility. 

As Director of Education, Dr. Barber manages the educational component of the F.A.C.E. workshop program and acts as a liaison to schools and teachers in the Philadelphia region. He brings more than 15 years experience as an educator to his role as the foundation’s top educational consultant. 

Dr. Barber is currently the Superintendent for the Springfield School District and an adjunct professor for the Education program at West Chester University.  Recently, Dr. Barber served as the principal of Peirce Middle School in West Chester, Pa. Prior to this, he was a liaison for the Language Arts Department with the West Chester Area School District from 2006-2008 and an adjunct professor at Gwynedd-Mercy College from 2003-2006. At Peirce Middle School, he also held the position of Assistant Principal from 2001-2004 before being promoted to Principal. He began his career as a teacher for the Pennbrook Middle School in Lansdale, Pa.  

In his role as an educator, Dr. Barber has led several conference and program presentations, including: Theme Mapping:  A Curriculum Conversation, 2007 at the Pennsylvania State Middle School Conference State; Transition: A Look at What Works, 2006 at Pennsylvania State Middle School Conference State; Scheduling and Staffing: A Look at Effective Organizations for the Young Principal’s Program at Lehigh University; and Leadership: Put Your Passion Into Action, 2005 at the Pennsylvania State Middle School Conference State. 

His extensive committee work in the education sector includes: Courageous Conversation Training for Addressing the Achievement Gap; REACH (Respect Cultural and Ethnic Heritage) national/school trainer; Committee member of the PAESSP conference 2005, Valley Forge; Coordinator of the Child Study Team and School Climate Committee; and Conflict Resolution Trainer, Mentorship Team, Assessment Literacy, PSSA Training, Effective Schools and Thematic Mapping coordinator. 

Dr. Barber has earned several honors over the course of his career as an educator. He was nominated for the ASCD’s Assistant Principal of the Year Award and is a recipient of The Senior Choice Award in the North Penn School District, The Bomberger Scholarship for Academic Excellence and the Diocesan Academic Scholar Award for Leadership.  

Dr. Barber earned a Doctor of Education and a Master of Education from Widener University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Ursinus College. He lives with his family in Springfield, Pa.
